Would a tone that's more peach than pink work just as well? I love the warmth, but I'm just not a pink person when it comes to decoration. Peach, on the other hand, is a bit more citrusy/buttercream and feels better to me. Would it have the same effect?

Also, if this is the color to paint your walls if you want to warm up a room that doesn't get a lot of light, what color should I paint my walls if I want to cool down a room that gets tons of direct sunlight?

Definitely not for me! It reminds me of Steel Magnolias - "Mah colors are Blush and Bashful!"

this reminds me of the domino feature a few years back in which a bunch of the home, including all of the bedrooms (even the little boy's), was pink. i love it!

I recently moved into a rental that has very pale pink walls - they're so subtly pink that I took them for standard rental off-white when I first visited the place, but on closer inspection they're definitely pale pink. I was disappointed at first, but that morphed into resignation, which has sinced morphed again - it now feels like a diverting challenge. As you say, pink needn't be all about Barbie. I still don't think I'd choose this colour if I were starting from scratch - but I'm sure there are ways to make it work, and this post makes me much more excited about it - Thanks!
I don't have any very useful insights to share yet. Only that it changes what works as a neutral - shades of white and cream that would work with white or off-white walls can look funny next to very pale pink, and shades that mightn't work with more normal wall shades can suddenly look nice next to a pale rosy wall. Brown or coffee shades seem to look warm and appealing. That's all I've got so far!
My favourite colours are usually greens and blues, both of which have the potential to look vomitous/6th-grade-girly next to the pale pink that's on my walls, so I have some challenges ahead. Thanks again for making it seem like fun :)

I painted the top half of my daughter's bedroom walls a very pale shade of pink, almost white. When the blinds are open and the sunlight streams through her room, the light in that bedroom is the most flattering in the house. (In case anyone is wondering, the bottom half of the walls is a deep wine color.)

I love pink - I wear pink shirts so I figured why not incorporate it into my decorating...
...so I had some draperies lined in pink, and they look great!

Another way to use pink if you're not ready so slap some on the walls is to use pale pink tablecloths and napkins on your dining table - it will make your white dinnerware stand out and offer a rich glow under the candlelight.

I am not really crazy about the pinks in those photos but I do like more intense shades of pinks, like raspberries, deep rose colors.

I do agree with bepsf using it in subtle ways can really add some interest and perk things up.

A couple of weeks ago I put pink roses into a green vase and it really perked things up to my grey/white/blue/green room. I am now trying to figure out how to add pink in even if it might be a book or two.

I repainted my railroad apt using the Henri Bendel's colors as inspiration. The living room is very pale pink with white trim and brown furniture and the bedroom, which used to be the dining room and which is adjacent to the living room- - is dark espresso brown with navy blue accents. It's lovely.

My living room is the same color as the last photo: Cool Lava by Benjamin Moore. I love it. It's very rich and doesn't feel too girly.

I think bad '80s decore ruined pink for many of us, but I'd like to see it come back! I remember how much my Mom loved the colour "dusty rose". *shudder*

When I first read "Pink Living Rooms" I cringed, but I love the soft rose-petal pink used in (most of) these examples

My living room is painted in a pink very similar to the first photo. It glows during the day from sunlight and incandesces at night from good artificial light.

It highlights every other color in the room without the starkness of bare white (as nice is that is sometimes) - black, white, apple green, and chocolate brown look particularly stunning with it.

Pink is flattering (like candlelight) to many people's skin tones, and it really helps my mood in the winter - especially in the frozen tundra where I live.

The dusty pink and peach and "mah colors are blush and bashful" 80's stuff is over.

If anyone is on the fence about it, I encourage you to try it!!!

With windows and light like in these examples, you could paint the walls puke green and they'd still be amazing rooms.

In my dark little hole which hasn't seen direct sunlight since October, on the other hand... well, it would probably become "psychological torture pink" pretty fast.
