The fast-growing online inspiration board and social network Pinterest received a valuation of $3.8 billion yesterday. It's now one of the most valuable privately-held internet companies. Last May, the company was valued at $1.5 billion. They've received $225 million in equity funding, even though they have yet to prove they can be profitable.
