We recently picked up some of those $1.99 bamboo stalks at Ikea. The reason for the impromptu purchase was the possibility of finding a solution to an ever-lasting problem: We want plants in the house to infuse color and life, but our two black thumbs can't keep anything alive outside of ourself and the dog. The bamboo has been a great burst of green, but we're thinking about getting a real plant now. In order to not kill it, maybe we should get the Plantbot, the plant stand with built-in solar sensors that walks around your house finding sunlight. Then again, to avoid nightmares, I might keep looking. Creepy animation of the Plantbot in action after the jump...

Ehhhhuggghhh... yuck. We'd hate to come across that Plantbot on a late-night trip to the kitchen.

The Web site for the Plantbot has no price or delivery date, so enjoy your sleep while you can.
