This photo has been circling the internet over the past month, showing an aerial view of fields of tulips in The Netherlands. Just a small peek at the bulb production industry, and a shot of color on Monday morning.
***I just realized after posting that this was over on AT:SF a few weeks back. Oh well, it's worth enjoying again!***
Besides the scale of production, the idea that these flowers don't make it to the market is amazing. According to Speigel International, these tulips in the field are left to flower in order for the bulbs to develop. They make for an awe-inspiring aerial view.

amazing. I love the Netherlands.
I lived in the Netherlands for a year as a kid and had fields like that near our neighborhood... much more interesting than the corn and soybeans we see as we drive out beyond Chicago.
Gorgeous
I have this photo as my desktop background - I leave for the Netherlands and Scandinavia in less than two weeks! :-)
