Seed packets are great gifts, packed full of potential and daydreams of what will grow. Select Seeds is one company that we enjoyed ordering from, finding high quality and reasonably priced packets, and excellent customer service. This past year we asked them if they would sponsor our 'just for fun' Flower Box Awards and they happily agreed. We love what they offer, and couldn't state it better than they have on their website:
Select Seeds - Antique Flowers offers gardeners a fabulous selection of unique, high-quality flower seeds and plants, specializing in old-fashioned fragrant varieties, flowering vines, and rare annuals.
Now is the time to order their 2008 catalog, or preview what they have online to get an idea of their offerings. The new catalog ships soon and it appears that ordering starts in January for the 2008 year.

One small, thoughtful gift always brings me more happiness than anything else. The seed packets from Select Seeds all have a history, and many varieties are quite unlike what you may find at the local nursery when spring comes around. And seeds are one of those presents that are a great bargain for what you get. A catalog and gift certificate (maybe along with a few small pots and some soil) makes a thoughtful gift and gives the recipient a chance to choose their own rare seeds to try out when the warm weather arrives. matt at apartment therapy dot com
