I couldn't resist. These intensely colored flowers were in the window of Lenox Hill Florist this week. They have an east facing window that catches the sun every morning. These arrangements were right by the door and were practically glowing...

The oranges and purples, deep magentas and punchy greens flow together and camoflauge the sheer variety of flowers. At a quick glance I spied: gloriosa lillies, calla lillies, hydrangeas, tulips, roses, hyacinths and peonies all within these two tightly packed arrangements.

Every day countless thousands of flowers are put out in NY flowershop windows. They never will be sold and are not destined for a romantic dinner table or the hands of a blushing bride, as they are put to work attracting our eyes as we run by. These did a great job of earning their keep as they stopped me in my tracks on the way to work.
