Plants and flowers were busy playing supporting roles in many of the entries for the Fall Colors Contest. I thought it might be fun to round up pictures based on that and put them in a few posts on this cold and cloudy Saturday. After the jump you can find a collection of some of the pictures that used them to enhance the space in both big and small ways...
ChrisToronto and Mike's apartment used their plants to draw your eyes upward. The Dracaena foliage dropping in front of the window has the nice effect of a chandelier.
The two cloud-like horizontal Phalaenopsis stems are a peaceful addition that add some organic lines to the bedroom.

These are fabulous posts, Matt, forcing me to pay attention to all the good principles of design: line, form, colour, pattern, texture, shape (and balance). I'm really happy you decided to do this: you could do this more often, too.
I'm now wondering where the hot pink mini-carns I bought today would not only look their best, but would make the room look best. Thanks!
make the room look its best...sorry.
man, is that the bullet planter in the last photo? that is damn sexy.
