Cut flower selection (I love this wooden plant stand)
I wanted to share a few quick snapshots of color from a quick stop in at this very charming flower shop in Brooklyn. The space is inviting and packed with fresh cut flowers and healthy plants: my version of feeling like a kid in a candy shop.
The owners, Kerry (flowers) and John (plants), were very gracious and helpful. They do have a website, but also have started a store blog in order to easily show off their most current work - and you can get a peek at some cool event spaces and clients' gardens if you go through the archives.

Love the use of orange next to those blues... I always look forward to the eye candy of the plant posts.
Wende--what other great plant posts have you found? I enjoy them, too, and am always looking for ideas. Alas, the orange beauty wouldn't work in my garden--
Oh, I just love all of them. Pretty flowers can't handle our Arizona climate, so reading Matt's posts is how I get to admire plant life that doesn't have spikes.
Is that a tiny little buddleia (butterfly bush) on that 1st picture? How lovely! Or is it just cut stems? I can't tell, and I'm not even sure mini ones exist! If it's a tiny window-sill-sized buddleia I'd love to know where I could get one! I'm moving house and have to leave mine behind cos they're too big :(
tin angel, it looks to me like the first picture has a veronica spicata in it, which is a hardy (and smallish) perennial with buddleia-like flowers. It doesn't smell the same, alas. But it comes in some great purples and violets.

Thanx JosieDaisy!I'll check those out. Boomer - lilies of the valley like shade and are gorgeous! The rhs (royal horticultural society) has a fantastic website with a plant finder search where you can type in everything you want (shade loving, low maintenance etc) and they find you a list of suitable plants - www.rhs.org.uk
the tiny orange flowers in the first picture are asclepias, and it is indeed a cut flower. not sure if they have this in plant form.
