Plasma TV's draw more power from the grid than a plug in electric vehicle? First, flat screens are contributing to the production of greenhouse gases and now this?
"Plasma TVs, industry officials say, consume about four times the electricity as recharging a plug-in hybrid. Yet utilities have managed to cope with the increased loads as thousands of new televisions came on line."
Well, the good news is that there is no reason that plug in electric vehicles can't become the norm now. How great would it be to see a fleet of electric cars on the road, especially if cars like the Tesla roadster are among those choices and gradually become more affordable.
