Hello again and welcome to Apartment Therapy's Play Food Felt-a-Long where we're buddying up to produce a buffet of play food in time for the holidays. Week three is upon us: dinner. I know what you're thinking: it's Thanksgiving week and you want me to make a pretend dinner???
No worries if this is a busy week for you - catch up another time if you can. And enjoy your real, edible Thanksgiving dinner!
The meal I made this week is sort of a nod to Thanksgiving. I used directions for a felt turkey, but chose to make mine in smaller dimensions so I ended up with something that's more like a small chicken or perhaps a Cornish hen. I added mashed potatoes, broccoli florets and carrot medallions.
Week 3 Assignment:
1. Make dinner items from our list of tutorials (or buy a pattern on Etsy or make something up yourself). Dinner can be anything - pasta, dumplings, pizza, whatever you feel like making.
2. (optional) Share/show off your work by tagging your food photos with #atfeltalong on Instagram or Twitter or email them to me and, if we get enough, I'll round them up into a post.
3. Celebrate your accomplishment with a cookie, a nap, or both.
For newbies, pasta is easy to make, especially the farfalle (though I do recommend using pinking shears for those). Dumplings and sushi are also good choices for beginners.
If you get hung up, email me for help and I'll do my best.
Wow, some terrific lunches to show off!
Thanks for felting along, guys!!
