Playful Holiday Tablescape Using Chalk

In the past, we've dined with family members who brought their little ones along--we constantly found ourselves entertaining the tykes with some mealtime coloring. We've decided that crayons and chalk at the dinner table aren't just for children. Kelly has the same idea, using chalk tablecloth during holiday gatherings.

We'll definitely be stealing this idea for future get-togethers. The chalk tablecloth is a great organizing tool for showing little helpers where casserole dishes should land. Using chalk also lets guests know where they should sit by writing everyone's name next to their place setting. It's also a fun treat when everyone sits down to find chalk sticks (for their own use) tied with twine. Once the table is cleared, a game of hangman or tic-tac-toe is fun for everyone (and a great way to maximize space in a smaller home).
