If you don't have kids in a year-round school, you might be worrying about the "summer slide" like the rest of us. By some estimates, kids forget 40% of what they've learned during the previous year during summer vacation. Most experts recommend that kids keep learning during their break, which is why we are so keen on finding interesting, fun, and educational toys. Playful Math is a perfect game for kids of different ages, and it's not just for summer, either.
Playful Math tackles the oft-dreaded fraction and makes learning intuitive and hands-on. The game comes with 55 wooden blocks that show the spatial relationship between various fractions and their wholes. Building and stacking allows kids to see the ways in which parts create wholes. While learning is natural with these blocks, the set also comes with 6 cards that suggest activities to boost engagement.

These good very nice, but I don't see a block with "1" on it. That would be an important thing to have. It's probably just hidden from view.
We have this toy -- the children argue over who gets to play the "math game" first. It's a big hit at our house -- and yes, there is a "1" block.
