For many, the selling point of the Stokke Tripp Trapp chair is that it pulls all the way up to the table so the baby or child isn't left out of the family dining circle. But for beginning eaters this can be a messy proposition. Stokke is sticking to their guns, but a Danish company developed the Playtray to fit the Tripp Trapp and it's coming to the US this summer.
Stokke has their own product, the Table Top, which they think addresses the issue of mess-makers, but what we like about the Playtray is it makes the chair more versatile because you can use it the middle of your kitchen or on your porch and don't need to be anywhere near a table.
Playtray has been available in Europe for awhile and must be well liked enough that they think the North American market is hungry for it. It's now available for pre-order ($90) and will be shipping out in mid-July.
Are Tripp Trapp fans out there excited for the Playtray or do you like the chair just the way it is? (cue Billy Joel.)
