Ohdeedoh has a fabulous, active community, and we appreciate all of you and all that you add to the comment threads. But we need to issue a friendly reminder on self-linking signatures in comments. We notice that many community members sign their comments with a link to their blog or site, and we would like to ask you to please not do so. Please only leave a link in your comments if it is germane to the post topic. See below for more clarification.
If you would like to include a specific link to your blog or another website site that advances or augments the discussion in a comment thread ("I used this same color in my son's room, check it out on my blog here..." or "You can find this product even cheaper here..."), that is fine to include. But please do not include an automatic signature or purely self-promotional link with your comment. This makes comment threads unnecessarily long, and there is a place in your personal Apartment Therapy profile to add a link to your website. Please use that to share information about your own site. Comments are for commenting only!
As editors we do not have the ability to snip or edit comments, so comments violating this aspect of our comment policy will be deleted. (You can view our full comment policy here.) The comment threads are for interaction on topics, and we appreciate you staying on topic! Thank you!
(And watch out for new and improved community features rolling out sometime this year; we are working hard on making our community an even better place for our members, and to facilitate sharing information and links of all kinds!)

Nomade Express Slee...
I totally, completely agree with you! This kind of self-linking is nasty.
I've seen these posts in the past, but it seems like the editors haven't been enforcing the no linky-siggy rule. Maybe I just came to those posts too soon after those comments were made.
I like it, I think it is tacky when commenters do this.
Got a business to run I suppose - no free advertising!
I sure hope you are getting real forums. (there is money in it!)
Yay!
Thank you, AT! I just hope you DO delete the comments of those that self-link, because it must be a tedious job, but they need to know it isn't ok.
Oops, I was one of the offenders but I did not realize that we could not do that! No more from me from now on. :o)
I too had no clue! What else can I say except that I saw everyone else do it, so I assumed that's what you did in an online community!! Phew, I'm so glad I saw this post!
"heart"
Amy
THANK YOU.
It's really annoying when they do that. This post is appreciated!
There's a "report spam" button on profiles now. Maybe there could be a button "flagging" certain members? They may not be spammers, but they may be repeat self-advertising offenders, or just frequently rude/mean, etc. That way you have more eyes in the community seeking these out, but you guys get to decide whether it's a true offense or not.
Just my two cents.
I'm with mrs.Mack on this one!!
I totally agreed with this policy on my blog, www.pleaseclickhere.com
Sorry, could'nt resist.
I tend to flag commenters who just put a skinny, useless comment, like "I love what you did", then add a link.
I love your site, frequent it all the time, but never commented until now.
I have to say that this sort of policy kind of confuses me. In my personal experience, I have been linked to many sources of inspiration by clicking on a person's link in their signature. I mean, isn't that kind of the point of the internet?
I'm saying this with all due respect, not trying to be snooty or anything along those lines.
