If we went back in time and told Zach Morris and his brick phone about the cell phones of today, with their 3G internet and Bluetooth technology, he'd flip. We have to admit, we are amazed at how much power and function gets mashed up into an iPhone or Blackberry. But even with all that we've seen, it's hard to believe that the Ply concept phone from KDDI is anything more than a distant dream for the time being. But it makes great eye candy...
Ply’s name is taken from its design inspiration of multilayered plywood. Each layer has its own very distinct function: a printer, projector, gamepad and sliding downward, a dialpad.
It's a great-looking piece. Check out more photos and animations of the Ply in action on KDDI's Web site.
