There's something about Pod that makes you want to linger. Despite its small footprint, there's a cool, calm, ineffable vibe that draws people in and keeps them coming back. The fact that it's stocked with a thoughtfully curated selection of "just right" housewares doesn't hurt either.
Pod's homey atmosphere is due in part to its friendly, down-to-earth owner, Julie Baine, whose discerning eye has brought a modern organic aesthetic to the bucolic Brookline Village outpost. Choosing quality over quantity, she has filled the beautifully styled boutique with classic, well-made goods by specialty manufacturers like Fog Linen, Hammam, Utility Canvas, Henry Road, and Hable Construction. Baine's love of textiles is evident, but there also is a constantly changing array of unique decorative items, tableware, and gifts. And since even the most modest purchase gets exquisitely wrapped, it's hard to leave empty handed.

will ya give that dog a bone, super sized biscuit boy is he cute!
I am wondering how those wood shelves are hanging, floating attached to wall or do I see a cord like air craft wire?
Looks like a cute shop.
I'm curious too about the wood shelves - I've always liked that look with a metal rod or wire but never know where to find them
The shelves are attached to the walls, they were screwed into the studs at an angle from below so they look like they are floating. There is wire running down the front but it is decorative. (I worked at Pod for years, love the store, love Julie. Still my favorite place to buy gifts)
YAY! A shop in my area! Can't wait to check it out!!!!
It's a nice store by the Brookline City hall. What a pleasant and refreshing one to browse after a (tiring) neighborhood design meeting when I worked in Boston few years ago.
