As parents of toddlers, toys inevitably become a part of our home décor. So we love it when we come across something the whole family can enjoy playing with, and would also look attractive arranged on a mantle, end table, or bookshelf. For instance, take this fetching set of balancing blocks.
Inspired by the art of rock balancing, these blocks are hand made from hardwood scraps salvaged from local furniture shops in Brooklyn, and sealed and painted with a non-toxic finish. A kit of ten blocks (ranging in sizes from 2-6" long) sells for $70 from Poketo. Sure the price tag might seem a bit steep for blocks, but then again it functions as a toy, family game, meditative exercise, or even displayed art. Is it obvious I want a set?
