A few months ago I wrote about some amazing, high falutin, gourmet play food, but if your kid's tastes are a bit more pedestrian, check out these wonderfully fun and decidedly unpretentious play food options.
Forget the lobster and sushi, here's everyday food that you might buy on the street, from the vending machine or the drive-thru. It's 100% felt and therefore calorie free!

Sorry, but "poor man's food"??? That's pretty offensive and classist.
Those tacos are to die for.
I agree with Amanda.
Oh look! Poor people only eat crap. Healthy, unprocessed foods are only for the wealthy.
Shame on you, Carrie. You could have easily come up with a much better adjective.
I know exactly what you meant by the title. Very clever and don't let people beat you up over semantics. Thanks for sharing!
I agree. Bad choice for the title. By "poor man's" I expected a less-expensive version/DIY of pricier play food sets, not "junk food." Referring to this type of food as "poor man's is insulting.
Me, too! $20 for a single piece of pretend junk food!? Ugh.
This isn't poor food, it is crap food. And yes, there is a distinction. Allow people with fewer means to live with a little dignity please.
I expected the article to be about cheaper alternatives to play food, which would have been interesting.
this is the most impressive attention to detail of play food I have seen ever. love this.
these foods are known as "sometimes" foods and sometimes ppl are broke before payday or a couple days before. this is a cheap way to eat. btw you can get healthier vs of hot dogs by using turkey dogs and baked chips...who says those felt chips have been deep fried? i bet that bun is organic wheat too. and the little debbie cupcake has some spinach added into the recipe. like desperatly delicious by jessica simpson. lowfat ground turkey for the tacos with low fat cheese and home made baked taco shells. I mean they did not post the recipies on here. the snow ball which i have always hated ( but this is quite impressive) is weight watchers points added up.
