We aren't all lucky enough to have a fireplace to cozy up our homes... until now! I just caught wind of this new portable fireplace designed by Camillo Vanacore and made by Electrolux.
A cool feature of this hot fireplace is that it starts off as opaque ceramic and gradually turns translucent as it burns. I read about it over at Six Different Ways, but I want to know more. When will this product be available, and for how much? Portable fireplace, are you for real?

It's like a giant lightbulb!
I like the idea, but not the shape. Or the fact that it says "Electrolux" in huge letters.
Portable Fireplace, please be real and make all my dreams come true.
Cool save for the logo.
So sexy..
from the picture I can't figure out what size this is and didn't see that listed on Six Different Ways. Any idea?
Now that is hot! I can see that in the corner of my living room. It also speaks to my inner science geek in an odd bunsen burner kind of way.
I have contacted Electrolux and will put more information on my site as soon as I hear from them. Glad to see other people liked the idea as much as I did :)
This is pretty cool, but you're missing the BEST part of a fireplace...the smell of burning wood!!
Oh I could definitely do without the smell of wood smoke.
I love the smell of burning wood.
This fireplace is cool! I agree with others that the logo needs to go. Also, I'm really curious how big it is. From the picture it look slightly larger than a lightbulb.
Re: "...starts off as opaque ceramic and gradually turns translucent as it burns."
So you can't tell it's hot until it gets really, really hot? That doesn't sound safe.
It's not a fireplace. I can't imaging pretending it could be.
Gosh, it's beautiful! I love it!
(I know it's not a real fireplace, but I grew up in a wood heated home, so I can fiddle around with cute little fire thingies as much as I please, and nyah to the naysayers!)
Although yes, I would probably be sanding off the logo fast as everyone else here.
Will look great next to the lava lamp!

(ps: prom dresses???)
i love this!
If you look closely you will see that the electrolux logo in this picture is superimposed and does not curve around the bulb shape. Also, if you own any electrolux appliances, you will also notice that they do not use blue ink on stainless or metal. The brand is a staunless on stainless logo. I think this is a fake - or at best a designer trying to get them to make one of his/her designs. Similarly, th eliability of a hot surface with no warning signs as designed here is something I doubt a brand like electrolux would want to make - especially since they have recently entered the USA market with a whole line of appliances. This just screams litigation.
haven't any of you heard of ventless fireplaces? target alone has a huge selection. http://www.target.com/b/ref=in_br_browse-box/186-5114909-9709638?ie=UTF8&node=2229427011&searchSize=&searchView=&searchRank=
