There is something so endearing about the simplest growth charts that you sometimes spy in homes - heights and dates ticked off with pen or pencil on a doorway or wall. But you can't take it with you when you move and you might be afraid to do it if you're a renter.
Using a mirror like Breanna of Dollar Store Mom did solves both those problems. You can probably figure out how to make it yourself, but she wrote up a full tutorial and materials list. Find it at Dollar Store Mom.

Nomade Express Slee...
My great-great aunt and uncle had a narrow strip of cloth tape (not sticky) in one doorway. Three generations were measured there. All the boys wanted to reach my great-uncle's height (6'2") but none ever did. When they finally moved out of their house to live with my family, we just rolled up the tape and brought it with them. I'm planning on starting a new tape in my house.
This is brilliant! I love how it gives the child to independently reflect on their own growth! Out to find a second-hand mirror now...
I'm a home-owner and I'm loving this idea! I love that it's functional, too.
I too love the cloth strip idea more.. Thanks for the idea Gabella
I bought a nice 6' 1 x 4" board, painted it up cute and marked the inches and feet. Every birthday, I paint on a new tick for each kid's height.
