Portraits and other artwork are one way to introduce color into your home. But what about boosting their effect by blowing them up to, say, the size of a door?...

It's a bold move, but we love the playful size of this painting, alongside other oversized wall-hung portraits of animals. We spotted this portrait on a door at the office of media agency Naked Communications, designed by Household.

Says the designer: "...we created a warm welcoming space with the attitude of a 'Fine Country Pile'. The essence of the experience was to embrace the feeling of 'coming home for Christmas'. The concept revolved around bold statements and unexpectedness, secret rooms, faux paneling and mock portraits heightened the drama suggesting that all is not as it seems."
