A science themed party! Jolie fills us in: I am a mom of two with one one the way. I am always reminded of how crazy the holidays get around now, not because all the stores have their Christmas stuff already out, but because both my children have early November birthday's. Ok, to get to the point, with the third arriving in only a couple months I really wanted to pull out all the stops for their birthdays. My son is mad about science and all things that fall into that category, so I thought that would be a great idea!
We had his party last weekend and my husband and I made everything from the neon cupcakes, to the chart of elements birthday banner, to the space photo wall. We hired a mad scientist to come out and do gases and explosions for the kids' entertainment.
My husband, being the amazing designer he is, made the invites, banner and photo wall. I wanted Adrian's cupcakes to look toxic, and with his birthday so close to Halloween it was not hard to find anatomically correct organ gummies, why not? Oh and eye ball lolly pops! The sparkler #9 on top had the kids mesmerized and was such a great addition to the cupcake stand.
As far as activities for the kids, at my son's school carnival they had this stuff called Sandy Candy - pretty much a test tube you fill with different colored sugar. The kids go bananas for it! What a cool day this was and I think I reminded my son that this was the last party for a while! And my daughter's party will be this Sunday and I have no idea how I will top this!
