Michelle isn't a bit scared off by color as evidenced in her son's 'taste the rainbow' room. She shares: My goal for O's room was to create a space that was young, modern, and full of bright colors with handmade touches. I wanted something he could grow into, that wasn't "theme-y", and didn't scream baby!
Many of the things in the room were made by me---I think this is how my "nesting" revealed itself throughout my pregnancy. My house was never clean, but my sewing machine was always going. The space is fairly small, so it's filled only with the special things we love. The idea started with the colors aqua and orange and it evolved into the space it is now.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Do you remember the name of the etsy shop?
Name of the etsy shop?
The prints can be found at this etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/theinksociety
Sorry for the double post, I'm on my phone lol. Thanks for the info!
I love the lamp! Can you let me know where you got the fabric? thanks!
awww, love his name. (okay, i have an oliver too.) the colors are lovely, what a cheerful space. :)
Great job! Well done!
Thank you for the nice comments! Yes, the prints are from theinksociety on Etsy. They were awesome to work with. The third print in the set is done in purple tones originally. They worked with me to make it custom in reds so it looked more "boy".
Sargar98--Thank you! The fabric was purchased at Hancock Fabrics--Bella Citrus was the name of the line. I know that it has since been put on clearance and could be tough to find.
super cute room!!!!
Such bright colors! What a fun room!
Love the prints, I have the same ones for my daughter's nursery!
Bright, fun, gorgeous room!
I have 2 of the same prints but I can't find a frame that they will fit in. Do you remember where you found your frames?
@dari I was going to ask her the same question!
I noticed the prints fit perfectly in their frames. I couldn't find any, so I had them matted into some frames that were just a little bit bigger.
LOVE!!! all that color is just amazing. well done!!

Fantastic room! Where did you find the directions to make that wonderful mobile?
@modish etcetera and dari--yes, the prints are definitely an odd size. I got my frames locally at a Mangelsens store. They weren't exactly the 13 x 19 size; they were just a touch smaller and I used an exacto knife to trim them down to fit. (maybe a 12 x 18 frame?)
I think you can also frame them in an 18 x 24 frame with a 5 inch border on all sides. I didn't have the wall space for this option--but it would give a bigger presence to the prints if you needed it.
@kylie dee--I believe I found the mobile instructions at Parents.com
Love it, especially the prints and colors. Very cool!
Such a fun room - love the mobile. How did you string the paper circles together, just by sewing them?
Lovely room - we're doing blues and oranges too! I didn't see the little orange bins listed in the source list - where did you get them?
@hazel8- The circles are connected by jump rings through holes punched in the top and bottom of each circle. I can see how sewing them with thread and needle would also work! The jump rings were super time-consuming, but I do love how they allow the circles to spin.
@mamandepetitpois- the orange bins are also from Land of Nod.
so loving, lucky kid!
I have the same prints. On the print info from the etsy store it says this:
Designed to work well with the RIBBA Frame from IKEA.
http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10161851
I used those frames and they worked perfectly.
Hi, I LOVE your nursery! It was the inspiration for my daughter's and I used so many of your ideas. I'm having such trouble with the mobile though...what kind of glue did you use to attach the fishing line to the mobile to hold everything together and hang? I've tried hot glue and it keeps falling apart and for some reason krazy glue does not stick! I'm at a loss and so close to trashing the whole thing but it's so cute. ANY help to save me would be appreciated! My e-mail is lwph.blog@gmail.com
THANKS!
