How do you make a collection of ubiquitous Hot Wheels cars look cool? I mean, we all know that good looking display can make anything look spectacular. This dad has got the answer.
Using poplar and walnut, a dad (user name lysdexic) from the Lumberjocks site created this open shelf for his son to store and display his prized toy cars. Even if Hot Wheels aren't your kid's thing, a similar shelf would be great for dolls, action figures, and almost anything else you can think of. For more photos and instructions on how he made this, run over to Lumberjocks.

Shaw's Original Fir...
this is awesome! i would also love to see creative lego storage/displays sometime. my little builders have so many finished sets now but it's hard to know how to display them, especially in their tiny shared room.
OMG I was just looking for something like this last week. Was trying to get all crafty and DIY but I have no wood tools or skills for that matter. love this!
I just emailed this to my dad, an amazing woodworker. It was titled "To Grandpa - I need this!". It would be perfect for my son!
This is awesome.
Awesome, but it would be too small for us. I need something for 200+.
If grand dad is ready to make another one and sell it please contact datachek@aol.com
It is an awesome piece.
