On a positive note note. It also serves as a urinal. For the big boys and the little ones. Multipurpose is good!

I instantly wanted to pee in it. Not exactly a place where I want to wash my face or take out my contacts.

To be sure, this is interesting. But practical? Not so sure. First off, you need a good drain in the floor. If that drain gets blocked, then the soapy water and whatever else will be all over the floor. And, yes, it does conjur up a urinal in the minds of men. Plus, or really minus, where are you going to put your contacts? There is no shelf space. However, if you want to "wow" without regard to the consequences, go for it.

The only potentially practical thing I could see coming from this is one could easily save water by putting a bucket at the end of the sink to catch the run off, and then use the extra water to flush their toilet, water their flowers etc. Otherwise, it's kinda rediculous

Well, something like this is obviously not about practicality. As a concept and as art, it's quite lovely. Imagine the fun you'd have as a kid?! G.I. Joe Water Park City!

I think it's kind of cool, if you had the right space for it.

The water would hit that metal, bounce, and spray the floor.

I agree wtih others here.. It immediately registered my mind as a "john".

It'll be awkward to spit out after brushing my teeth with the.. gooey dripping down the stream. It may make too much of a mess with blue-green smudge if the tootpaste gets stuck on the way down. its too graceful of a design and id feel guilty to wash anything dirty on it!

Oh, I love this! It's so out there! And yeah, I immediately thought of putting a bucket at the end for grey water. Or maybe go one step further and just have it dump into a flower bed. Hideously impractical, but a lot of fun. And that advertizing copy is a hoot.

Well, seeing as they are cutting back on water here in S.F. this would be bad. My water bill would be through the roof simply because my kids would think it was so cool they'd run it forever! "Hey, what could we send down the waterfall next?" Yeah, TOO much fun!

Drip stains, splatter, and a waste of space.

I think it's stunning. And I really don't think it'd spatter. I'd just be afraid that I'd waste water due to the endless fascination of watching it slide all the way into the drain!

Normally I don't like very impractical things. And my concern with it is not so much the splashing--I don't think it would--but that it would get very gross unless you wiped it down all the time. I'm thinking spit out toothpaste...

But that said I love it! I think it's beautiful; I love the green text that it comes with (not sure I buy the ecological component but I like the concept.) and I would absolutely put it in my bathroom if I could.

I voted hot, however, I can totally imagine toothpaste gunk getting stuck on the floor drain plate.

Sculptural? Yes. Any other pluses? No. My daily rinse away of sink gunk would take on a whole new dimension with this thing and use WAY more water to just wash it out than the half cup or so it takes to wash out my mini sized one now. Besides all the other comments above, the "housewife" in me cringes at the very sight of this.

I think this is why they call it a 'washbasin' and not a sink. In a sink, we spit toothpaste and my husband shaves (can you imagine wiping out all the little black beard hairs from this thing??). I think this is meant to be a showpiece in your hardly-ever-used guest powder room (that must be at least 150 sleek square feet).

Also, um, "in these environmentally conscious times", we will need to use 4x the bathroom cleaner to clean this giant thing ...

if all of you have toothpaste clumps in the sink when you spit out, you are using far too much toothpaste... Use less and those will go away.

i agree...i voted not...i can think of toothpaste getting stuck.....and watching foam dripping down into the drain...also DH shaving and those lil hairs all over the place.....gross....

It's over the top and wholly impractical.

But I kinda like it, so I voted "hot".

Though I admit, that even if I had the space (that thing is bigger than my bathroom!) and the budget for it, I still couldn't see myself buying it, do to the practical issues.

But I kinda like it anyway.

Not. Good design should actually improve something outside of simply looking cool.

This is just a bunch of fancy footwork that accomplishes nothing new and creates a host of new problems in the process.

I wouldn't want to have to look at my toothpaste spit travel so long before going down the drain.
It IS cool looking....buy perhaps not so very practical for most of us.
