By now, it is fairly common knowledge that devices that are left plugged in continue to use electricity even when powered off. While its a good policy to unplug devices that are not in use, there are times when that is just not possible, particularly when charging devices like batteries or electric toothbrushes that you might leave to charge when you ar not at home.

The Belkin Conserve Socket plugs into any household outlet and automatically stops the flow of energy, including standby power, to outlets using an adjustable timer. Not only is this outlet better in terms of safety (devices that are left plugged in can be prone to electrical malfunction or fire) but is helpful in reducing electricity bills and conserving resources.

No option to set it to an hour seems weird
cool. i can think of 3 things (electric drill, 2 cordless vacs)--four (electric toothbrush)--i could use this on at my house right now. and i can see how the conserve power switch would be handy for the coffee pot, stand mixer, and other small appliances.
We have 2 of them and use them on our towel warmer/drier and now on the Christmas tree lights. They are pretty neat.
