Are you the kind of person who can choose paint colors like nothing else? Do you instinctively know the difference between a warm red and a slightly cooler version? Test your color IQ with this quiz from x-rite. To take the quiz, you have to rearrange a randomly shuffled spectrum of colors by hue...

Although colors vary on different monitors, the test calculates your ability to organize hues in relation to one another on the screen, reducing the interference of monitor discrepancies. A low score is better, with zero being perfect. We scored a 4. Turns out our deficiency lies in the green range. To take the quiz yourself, click here.

19. That was fun!
I'm an 8... guess i better work on my greens too!!
Got a 4.
My eyes hurt.
16.
almost blind now..
I got a score of 2 (best is 0, worst is 99).
My 2 errors were both in the teal-blues.
i got a 3. I guess all that design school money was worth something!
got a 4
8. That hurt my eyes too. Teals and ochers were my trouble zones.
16
That's make you see stripes!
Whoohoo! Perfect Score! (very confusing though - perfect score is 0?)
Perfect colour vision.
Based on your information, below is how your score compares to those of others with similar demographic information.

Ouchy eyes. Fun, though!
perfect score! that's worth the blindness.

Scored a zero: "You have perfect color vision!"

I'm shocked, lol.
Wow I got a 3!
Wow, a 0!
Yay! :)
12 for me.
I got 4. I didn't expect to do that well.
21. All wrong answers in green/red range.
Guess dad's color-blindness strikes again!
I received an 8 on the website.
My best score from a physical test (at a Color Marketing Group conference) was a 2, which is classified as "perfect".
An interesting note for these types of tests; the lower scores are typically in even increments due to the fact that if you miss one color, you naturally have exchanged it with another.... so two colors are out of sequence.
I liked the physical test better because I was working in a light box. Additionally, in the physical test, you only work with one of the four color bars at time which equals fewer distractions for me!
Perfect. W00t. ...What a slow work day.

Got a 0. Yay!
Now my eyes hurt. haha
15.
Ow, my eyes....
23. I'm blaming the fact that my boss just got out of her meeting and I know I shouldn't be tooling around online. "No outside internet use!"
That does not explain my concentrated issues in the warm pinks and yellows.
12
O!
Ditto AdamStL - same report and same reaction.
Perfect score
Woo Hoo!
My Mother used to play games like this with me as a kid.
I guess I have trained eyes.
Yay - 0!
26, but widely distributed errors. I think the test would be more accurate if they used bigger swatches.
10
that was fun
perfect zero!?! neato!
0! Kind of surprised, though. The greens and turquoises in that one line all looked so similar.
Yeah, my eyes kind of hurt now.
0
Yeehaw! Although, considering how my eyes feel right now, I don't think I can do that again.
Perfect Color Vision for me.
I kinda knew that though... dyslexia does have it's upsides sometimes. :)
Perfect Score, Yay!

The first two were easier. I wonder if I would have done better if I'd taken a break before finishing the last two...
I got a 24.
But I'm figuring that's not that bad, because I can go into a fabric store and by thread for fabric I haven't looked at in weeks, and get a perfect match.
24... not bad for someone with very little artistic inclination
perfect color score! good thing, since i work in an art supply store...
got an 8.
I got a zero. Finally, a quiz I can get a perfect score on.
I LOVE this! I got a 12. Then i looked up the comparisons and I saw that the highest score for my demographics was like 1400 something. Then I went back to the game and hit the "score" button with the tiles in their mixed state. The score for that was 992!
perfect score!
Wow - I got a 7
That hurt...
I have perfect color vision! yay!
I got a zero, my mother would be so proud.
I got a zero! Woohoo!

:o)
wow, I totally suck, I got a 34. No wonder me and my hubby think our couch is 2 totally different colors!
I'm going to blame it partly on my computer, I'm going to try again at work!!
That was fun! I got a 0, but I can't for the life of me find a paint color that works in my living room. I must be looking for perfect harmony.
i got an eight! i was so determined to 'beat' the posted score of four. haha...
I got a zero! So all these years of art school and working as a graphic designer have not gone to waste! It's interesting how many perfect and close to perfect scores there are amongst the people here.
I got a zero!
Got an 8.
Missed a cluster of 4 in the greens and a cluster of 4 in the mauves.
41 = thought I would do better :(
in my mid 50's, and scored a 3...i'm sending this to everyone! i need to close my eyes...
4. i expected better, although i didn't try very hard.
we had to do similar exercises in art school.
11 is close enough for me!
11.
Wow, I really did bad! 167 for me! I'm color blind. Mistakes in the green AND blue range.
0
Perfect color vision.
I am stunned and amazed. I anguish over paint and fabric choices, which I honestly thought was the result of me having trouble with color.
11
I'm perfect too. I've always loved color, yet I can't seem to commit to a wall color. I've kept my white walls and I just keep swapping out colorful accessories to keep from getting bored.
JaxByDefault----perhaps that is why you anguish over things so much, you see to well, were others do not.
I got a 0 and I'm just like you are!
i'm just here to represent the above 80 contingent, with a whopping score of 87. (i have annie albers for a mother, a master's degree in art history, and what i really hope is a defunct monitor.)
0! And Jax and poptart, I think I'm in the same boat. I get so frustrated with my house because things are 'not quite right'. I thought it was my perfectionism...guess not. I'll just have to go for contrasting stuff rather than trying to always match!
39 - that was very tiring!
4, all errors in the blue/teal range, which sucks, as those are my favorite colors.
0! Whoohoo! I agree, though, some of those colors looked awfully similar... It's crazy, you could be just one off and not have a perfect score?
0. wow. didn't realize that my colour sense was so strong. maybe i'm making up for my partner's colourblindness?
Took it on my MacBook yesterday and got a 26. (Then had to drink a beer to handle the shame.) Tried it this morning on my husband's iMac and got a 12. Evidently, there is some context dependency here - it could be screen, the ambient light, how strained one's eyes are...
Perhaps I'll keep taking it in different contexts until I get a 0.
Perfect!! :) Now, how can I apply this to the rest of my life!
26 - and I'm an interior designer.
Time to get a new monitor :)
hurray, I got 0. Does this mean that if my color combinations are off, it's not because of my eyes but because I picked out off combinations?
ZERO. Took me a LONG time to do it, though.
I got a zero! :o)
oh my gosh, i thought i was doing so well and i got a 32! hahah, oh well. my worst area was righ between green and blue.
0. Fun, except for the resulting headache. I guess that explains why the minor color clash in my living room drives me nuts... (This was on a MacBook Pro. I bet on my awful work computer I'd have done horribly.)
12. That was fun.
Got bored and blind after finishing the 1st line, gave up and got 438.
4, with some missed in the green area. What does that mean? Does that mean I'm like the Post Family?
15 but wow I have a migraine now!!
I'm not doing it, I'm a "color moron"!
the site doesn't work -- says "internal server error, try again later" -- it's all these high (or rather, LOW) scores --they broke it!
Yeah, I think it's broken. Didn't work last night or this morning.

I got a 4!!
I am a 30 yr old female
My mistakes were in the blues and teals!
0!! Although I have to admit it was on my second try.
First time was a 3...
* Your score: 0
* Gender: Female
* Age range: 40-49
* Best score for your gender and age range: 0 (Me!)
An 8, and OW that hurt. I think I need to get up from the computer and do something else just to give my eyes a break.
19 and I'll probably need a Lasik enhancement after that test.
I got a 7 but I didnt get the Hue test results range. This is all I got:
Your score: 7
Gender: Female
Age range: 30-39
Best score for your gender and age range: 0
Highest score for your gender and age range: 1476
Respectable 8. 50yr old male.
I got a 4!
I really wanted a zero, since I just painted my place lots of different colors, and had been spending endless amounts of time comparing very similar shades.
But I guess 4 is respectable! : )
20 a heachache.
And apparently I can't type properly anymore either. I meant "20 plus a headache"... :s
geez. I got a 70. I've always known I have problems with color. Just look at the way I dress :) I had problems with every color.
I got 50 but I'll blame my age of 61 as the reason. I also have one heck of a headache now. Oh, and the squares were far too small '-)
7, also missed in greens and blues. Had to look away from the screen a few times to keep my eyes in focus!
oh my god - this is the Farnsworth-Munsell Color test in digital form. As a previous Colorist (labdip matcher) and Designer, I've had to take the test with the actual color chips twice (first score as entry level colorist:12. Second score years later:2). It was sad to see other colorists score badly and have their color matching duties reassigned. Well, sad for them, relief for the factories.
i got a 0, but i'm an artist. so, it's kind of my thing. :D fun thanks!
