This bed reminds us of a 1970s home decor photo we found in an old book and saved to our clip file, but it's actually a design from the 21st century. Created in 2004 by Giuseppe Viganò, the Squaring Bed is an "island" that can be configured as a larger or smaller expanse of upholstery. The quilted fabric that covers the bed and its parts can be removed, and wooden feet lift it off the ground...

Manufactured by Italian company Bonaldo, different models in the Squaring collection range between $3,000 and $7,500, depending on the components and the retailer. You can also purchase it with leather upholstery, and headboard options range from high to low to deep.
