While a cork board can be very handy, it does not always compliment the look of a room. That is why I was drawn to this unique alternative created by Orlando of the blog Hommemaker. It even looks good when nothing is pinned to it.
Orlando explains:
It's like a painting, but you can pin things to it. If you've ever fantasized about stabbing pins into pieces of art (and who hasn't?), this is the bulletin board for you. My problem with most bulletin boards is that they are ugly and the cork is a gross color. This bulletin board solves all those problems and then some.

Is that what we're doing now? Erasing all negative comments? That's good to know AT.
Cork is a gross color? who knew? But even though I like natural cork's color, I also think this painted cork has its merits.
That guy is hilarious. I can relate to him when it comes to the miter box--an electric saw with miter stops is much easier.
I wonder if you could get a similar effect by just painting the cork itself? You could just purchase a pre-made bulletin board with a frame and paint the cork to make it more decorative.
Is it just me, or does it look like a chalkboard that's been hastily erased?
Maybe it's just my monitor. :)
