My daughter's 4th birthday was coming up. I had purchased her a pink superhero cape from Zulily.com, and she loved it so when coming up for ideas for her birthday party, I knew it had to be superhero capes as treats for the kiddos, instead of loot bags.
But $40 per cape was too much, so I began looking at Value Village for inspiration. I found two satin bedsheets, for under $5 each. Then all we needed was velvro and iron-on letters from Walmart. With my mom's sewing experience six capes for the kids were made! They were a HUGE HIT!
The birthday girl cape had an added touch of glitter with a butterfly iron-on. Everyone loved to see their names in glitter iron-ons! And for masks, I just purchased ladies gel eye masks! They were super cheap and came in different colours! I hear the kids all continue to play with their personalized capes at home!
