Look! Post-It Calendar at Design Mom

If you have five kids, you need a good organizational system. If you have five kids AND you're a designer, then you need a good organizational system that's also pleasing to the eye. Fortunately, designer-slash-mom-of-five Gabrielle (aka Design Mom) has just the system, and all you need are a few tablets of humble Post-It Notes to recreate it in your own home. (We reckon it'll work pretty well even if you don't have five kids.)

The Post-It calendar is more than just a way to keep track of family events. It's also a family ritual, and educational to boot:

Maude likes to remove last month's staples. Ralph likes to pick out colors for the new month — typically based on any applicable holidays (Red or Green during December, Orange during October. On the calendar above the colors aren't significant of anything in particular. Ralph just collected an assortment of post-its that he said "felt like January"). It helps everyone understand the different number of days in each month.
