Where do we start? Pottery Barn's Color Wheel puzzle might be the most fabulous puzzle we have ever seen. Puzzle pieces fit together in a wooden base to form a classic color wheel, and all of the pieces are labeled by color-name. But the beauty of this toy that it is so much more than just fitting the pieces into the puzzle base. The color wheel is an amazing way to introduce children to both math and color principles.
If you don't play with color, you never get to learn the joy that color brings to life, and with so many children attending schools that don't have art programs in them, this is a fun way to teach kids about how colors work together within the color wheel, by letting them put the puzzle together in different ways so that they can decide for themselves what looks harmonious.
The color wheel is just $29.00, and is a great example of a toy that is both educational and fun. We watched a young child playing with this recently, and it was inspiring to see them move the pieces around, experimenting to find their favorite combinations, and in the process, learning a little something about color theory.

As is their wooden flowered puzzle, Girls around the World puzzle and Alphabet puzzle. All are top notch quality, beautiful to look at, and my daughter plays with them constantly.
I thought so too when I first saw it a while ago, however, I thought it more appropriate for adult decor after realizing that a child will get frustrated so fast - so many of the pieces are the exact same shape as others that they will certainly be placed in the wrong spots - which does little to teach children anything about the color wheel.

i've loved this product for a while and think that it's a great resource for teaching kids about colour... i remember even as a very small child when i drew "landscapes" that i was very specific about the colours of the rainbow going in the proper order. and i drove my mom crazy if say, my pink socks didn't exactly match my pink sweater. some kids just have an eye for it.
