We promise we're not trying to steer you to a collection of infomercials for the chain! Really, the video library on the PB website has some cool resources, as well as peeks into the homes of several design-world luminaries.
We really liked seeing the home of Domino Editor in Chief Deborah Needleman and Zem Joaquin, founder of Ecofabulous. But our favorite video of all is probably "Furniture Repairs Made Easy", which featured the Pottery Barn "in house finishing expert" showing how to fix pocked wood and large scratches with little more than a credit card, some wax, and marker or two. And as common sense would have it, if you don't need to be privy to the glories of PB's construction, you can probably pass the "Pottery Barn Quality" section.

They also have good information about furniture construction. The info shows a cross section of a well-made couch vs a cheaply made couch.

I'm not sure whether or not PB has the best furnishings, but it's great information that you can generalize to anything on the high or low end.
