We're used to a power strip protecting our electronics from sudden power spikes and surges, But we've never heard of one that can protect our jewelry, small valuables and extra cash...
We're seeing a trend! Here's another example of people using common tech to hide their valuables: (If you haven't already, check out the Vintage Radio Safe and the DVD Rack Hiding Spot posts.)
This power strip is actually a safe, with a hidden compartment that snaps off from the underside of the strip.
It's $29.99 from BeWild.com.
It's not functional as a power strip, but you can plug anything in to its 'outlets' and plug the strip in to the wall, illuminating the red light on the safe.
Although, we like Nerd Approved's suggestion that you keep the power strip safe in a drawer or box with other spare cords and wires. If you keep it too close to the media center or computer desk, it might inadvertently get swept up by a burglar in a rush.

love it.
A diversion safe is a pretty good investment if you ask me. Although if you're going to use one of these power strip types I'd highly suggest you stuff the remaining spaces with something like tissue so if a theif goes to steal your TV and moves the strip by chance they won't hear any noise which would be a dead give away. :-p
Any thief which would steal electronics may well steal the power strip. I do love diversion safes, though--as long as they're not on eBay and therefore open to the scrutiny of burglars.
