Powerdesk Freemote: The Hidden PC

Would you believe that thin silver box with the DVD sticking out of it is a dektop PC? Well it is and it isn't. That silver box is the 'freemote' part of the power desk which brings all the bits you need to interact with on a PC (DVD slot, USB ports, power switch, headphone port) front and center while allowing you to hide that nasty tower away. It works like this.

By connecting a USB cable and a proprietary Powerdesk cable between the PC and freemote, you have now duplicated the PC's connections into any custom built desk. The beautiful thing is that if you ever need to upgrade your PC, your custom made desk remains intact. Simply swap out the cables and you are good to go.

Read more about it here. Unfortunately the Powerdesk range of furniture is in the UK so shipping an entire desk would likely be an expensive proposition. I wonder if it is possible to get just the freemote end of things an fabricate your own desk. Our boy Peter could make some beautiful things happen.
