Presence in Absence USB

There comes a time when we're separated from our loved ones and sometimes having a piece of them with you helps ease the difficulty of being apart. We never thought that keeping a digital scrapbook could help ease the separation.

Presence in Absence USB was designed by Colm Keller; a recent graduate of HDK in Gothenburg, Sweden. The idea behind the USB drives is that you document your experiences while being apart and share them when you're reunited.

The Presence in Absence USB is made of Birch Wood and Porcelain caps. Initially presented in one piece. The couple is then supposed to carve the Birch USB into two drives, one for each person - with the enclosed craft knife, of course. When the couple reunites; they can plug in their digital scrapbooks into the porcelain hub that comes in the kit - together.

We're really loving this and can see this being ideal for so many other situations besides just long distance relationships.
