FxBalléry in collaboration with Domeau&Pérès have recently released these bold and beautiful vases made from "industrial materials" to look like lacquered PVC pipe. Although we love the look, the $200+ price tag feels a little steep. After the jump we have a few suggestions aimed at making them on your own!

When we came across these vases, we instantly fell in love with their industrial looks complimented by their high gloss paint. They're quite stunning and while we're always willing to support individual artisans in their pursuit to bring beauty to the world, especially when each piece is handmade like these are, if their shiny good looks are still feeling a bit out of reach a diy version isn't entirely out of the question.

Though we can never hope to replicate this look exactly, we do think a trip to your local hardware store and more specifically the plumbing aisle, could give you a little bit of the same look, without the high overhead. The plumbing aisle is actually quite inspiring if you look at it from an artistic point of view. There's lots of doo-dads and thinga-ma-jigs that can attach this to that in all sorts of combinations.

You'll need lengths of pvc pipe, glue to seal the pieces together and a can or two of spray paint to seal the whole thing when finished. Make one, or 10, the choice is now up to you, though if doing things yourself isn't in the cards, don't forget to check back with FxBalléry and his fabulous designs!

(P.S.: Don't forget the bottle brush to clean them out when all is said and done!)
