Stainless steel cups are an ideal option for kids in a couple of ways; they are food safe and basically indestructible. But a standard metal cup can be a little boring, a little sterile looking even, depending on your aesthetic requirements. Check out these hand-painted beauties taking care of all of that.
Not only are they lovely looking, they are made by a fair trade company that produces them using traditional techniques, natural materials and sustainable methods of production. You can find the Lolita Hand-painted Cup ($11) at Green Heart. They also carry sets of 4 ($36).

Shaw's Original Fir...
I have a set of these and they are amazing. Just makes sure not to put them in the dishwasher. My husband put 2 in, and the paint came right off.
Is there something similar that can go in the dishwasher?
got them straight from India at a fraction!
These cups are gorgeous and I'd love to get some BUT if the paint comes off that easily, can't it come off when a toddler is drinking/licking/chewing from it? Am I just being paranoid?
Agree with rinnawt - Indian families have used stainless steel for ages. I have some tumblers from my mom's house - they are pricier in the US than in India, but probably still a good deal if you check an Indian grocery store.
