Their ferociously friendly bulldog and all-smiles little girl are just two of the reasons why this family rocks. This is a home that draws you in; every detail comes with a story and nothing feels contrived. Erin and Rob have created a family-centered home that excudes style and glamour with each well thought-out detail. It's that seemingly effortless sense of style that is envied by many and attained by few.

It's doesn't come as a great shock that Erin and Rob have created such an awesome space. They are both creative types; Erin is a branding director for Stella & Dot and Rob a creative writer for an advertising company. After bouncing around from Atlanta to SF to NY, the couple finally landed back in SF. Tired of their annual bi-coastal moves, they decided to stay for awhile and make it home.

Erin and Rob use their space wisely and have successfully turned it from just another rental unit into a lovely home. Each room is utilized to it's full potential. The laundry room even doubled as Elliot's nap time space while I photographed her nursery (I was assured that she actually really liked the laundry room.)

There's a lot of love in this family and every time I turned I around it was noted. From the thoughtful decorating details to the art and furniture created by Erin, this home is a seamless mix of modern and vintage that truly supports this family's lifestyle and aesthetic.

Apartment Therapy Survey:

Our Style: Rob would probably call its stylishly messy, but I'd say it's eclectic (isn't
that what everyone says?) with a little bit of glamour....and a little bit of farmhouse.
I like every room to have something shiny, something fuzzy and something
humorous.

Inspiration: The late great Domino, The Parker Palm Springs is perfection, Kelly
Wearstler, Thom Filicia, Rita Konig and Pinterest, of course.

Favorite Element: I like everything to have a story. It makes a house a home. Oh, and our open kitchen and back patio--a rarity in San Francisco.

Biggest Challenge: The woodwork. It brings such warmth to the apartment but
can make things looks really heavy and dark, which is great...if you want to live in an
English hunting lodge. I do love the woodwork, but it's challenging to find the right
pieces to help lighten it up.

What Friends Say: Of course they tell us they like it, but we're friends with a lot of
designers so I'm sure they have they're own opinions. As long no one ever describes
it as French Country I'm okay.

Biggest Embarrassment: It used to be the number of oversized mirrors (although
Elliott loves to look at herself, which is terrifying already), but lately I can't stop
buying throw pillows.

Proudest DIY: It's hard to pick, a lot of the art in the house I made, including our
dining room table and the curtains and painting in Elliott's room.

Biggest Indulgence: Our Temper Pedic mattress...it's everything they say.

Best Advice: You don't have to have it all at once. "Don't over think it" (said Rob the night before Apartment Therapy came.)

Dream Sources: If I had all the money in the world, I don't know that I'd shop
anywhere different. Except Ikea...I'd probably never step foot into an Ikea.
