Forgive us for saying so, but this bed rocks. The Private Cloud is designed to rock a bit at the slightest touch...

Or, if you prefer it sit still, the Private Cloud comes with blocks that hold it in place. The bent wood frame is beautiful, but this bed ends up taking up quite a lot of space, given the shape of the frame and all that rocking.

I'd hate to go to bed in this after a long night of drinking...
The major problem I see is not the rocking per se, which might be pleasant, but the need to stop and put the bed on its blocks if you have stomach flu or if putting motion in your ocean isn't a romantic turn-on (wink-wink, nudge-nudge). Talk about a mood-wrecker!
Wende, I agree with you... but it would be great for single people!!! Although I wonder how turning over in the middle of the night would affect sleeping (I am thinking physics and vector motion here.... ahhh)
this seems perfect for an old-fashioned sleeping porch. rocking daybed with lemonade in the afternoon, and a breezy hammock-y bed at night. maybe you could even sleep on it sideways, so the swaying motion would be more like a hammock and less sea-sickness-inducing.
bloo_mountain, excellent idea!
I think this LOOKS so beautiful that I can almost picture a world in which I'd be determined enough to give it a chance that I would seek out a situation to be able to sleep on it all night long for more than one night, so I could tell if I could stand it on a daily basis, because yes, it looks like it has the potential for sea-sickness.
The problem COULD end up being that since it does sleep two people, most pairs of people who share a bed don't spend the whole time asleep, and I can imagine this bed trying to lurch about and migrate around the room if there's any exuberance to the proceedings at all.
Still, it might be fun to try out. Here's what they should do -- put them in some boutique hotels where they let you buy stuff that's in the room.
It looks like something that you'd see in Second Life.
If the bed's a rockin...
If you built up enough momentum, could this roll right across the room like one of those hamster bubbles?
Ew.
There are a few sailors in my family & they say that they sleep better in a softly rocking boat than anywhere else. I can see how this might appeal to them.
However, I can only imagine how my cat would react if she jumped up on this bed. Not good.
I wonder how it feels to have sex in THIS bed. I would guess it limits the amount of safe positions you can hope to achieve without a helmet and shoulder guards.
I don't care for it - I think it looks hokey.
how do you hump in a thing like that? i mean, without dying.

What a concept! I'd have it in black and red (traditional, I know) for romantic adventues, but I'd have to have a "beddy"-bed, one that just stays still and is rather dull, for sleeping...
