Name: Vaska Herbatergent
Price: $17.88 (150 oz.)
There are a lot of greenish laundry detergents out there these days. But we were particularly interested in Vaska Herbatergent because it comes from a company basically located in our backyard—Berkeley. Also because it's biodegradable, graywater-safe, and allergen free.
We tested the herbatergent out on a huge pile of laundry that had been accumulating for at least 2-weeks.
Performance: Vaska Herbatergent is HE-friendly and super-concentrated. According to the directions a tiny capful of the stuff was going to clean our huge load of jeans, t-shirts, and sweaters. And, indeed it did. We were really happy with the results. All of our clothes smelled nice and fresh as they came out of the wash. We didn't test on any stains, so we don't know how effective it would be on a tougher load. But for your average wash, this stuff definitely passes the test. And we noticed a really pleasant lavender scent when we took a sniff.
It also comes in eco-friendly, energy-saving packaging.
