We're full into Summer and high-watering season, and while some areas of the country are getting too much rainfall and others are desperate for some, it seems we can all agree that reusing rainwater, rather than fresh water is the most common-sense way to irrigate our plants. Luckily throughout the years rainwater collection has become more popular and we've come across a great variety of rain harvesting options — both DIY and ready to buy.

I'm forwarding this to my dad, he will love this water saving idea, thanks.
We started watering our plants using water from our fountain when we rinse it out. The slightly "green" (aka algae ridden) water is making our plants grow like crazy.
I love my rain barrel in my back yard! My TH doesn't have a water spigot in the back...so the barrel is a god send. It saves me a lot of trips back and forth to the kitchen tap to water my garden. Right now my area needs rain. The barrel is almost empty. It was well worth the investment!
