Indie Bed
Catalogs are dropping, but it was CB2's new one that caught our eye. They are moving quickly ahead, ditching the messenger bags and selling stylish furniture for the younger set. This is a niche that we only see Urban Outfitters filling, but they leave a lot to be desired. They're also cutting in a bit on West Elm's niche. Things are getting interesting...
Here are a few things we liked. Above is the Indie bed, a sort of cut-off four poster that reminds us of Easter Island.
Go Cart Desk and Storage
This one reminds us of Martha Stewart's catalog. Ah, the good old days...
See Saw Sofa Bed
Super useful and a very nice design.
Briar Chairs
Whoa! This is so fashion forward we just had to post it. Very bespoke!

I love that you posted this bed last week saying how the proportions were all off. Upon further reflection, you now like it?
I think it was Aaron who made that initial post about the Indie bed... not Maxwell.
Anyway, CB2 is growing on me. I've only ordered a couple of pillows and a throw blanket, but quality is excellent.
Sshhhhhh! There was a whole social scientific study here in whether people would like the bed this week, but you've blown the gaffe.
Whoops! But knowing some AT'ers... it's unlikely they'll read any posts prior to their own.
How funny - did this stuff just appear on the cb2 website today? I've been thinking lots about nightstands, and had just come to the conclusion that what I actually want are machinist's tool cabinets (like one of these - http://www.shop.com/8_Drawer_Solid_Steel_Under_Desk_Organizer_-32173962-41940301-p!.shtml or http://www.toolboxesdirect.com/tool-chests-&-cabinets/accessories/kennedy5drawerhangoncabinet.cfm#navbar=a). The trig file cabinet is quite similar, much cheaper, and I probably don't actually need the super heavy-duty construction of a real one. Since I'm not in a rush though, I'll try scavenging at flea markets first. :)
Sorry, the "you" in my comment wasn't addressed to Maxwell; it was addressed to AT, the editorial entity. I know we all have individual preferences, but is editorial consistency too much to ask for? And if I, an every-now-and-then visitor to this site, know the bed was already posted and held up for judgment, shouldn't Maxwell?
Love those chairs, though!
I still don't like the stumpy bed. But I do like the duvet, the rolling shelves, the rug, and the prices!
Those chairs are great. I wish I had a den to put them in.
i saw the bed in question last weekend - up front and personal in the store on lincoln. while i still would prefer a bed with a headboard, i do think it is interesting and the scale seems far more reasonable than in the catalog image.
hate the bed, LOVE the chairs!
I think you get what you pay for. I like the styling of the bespoke chairs. They've sort of got the style part down, but I think the quality isn't so good.
Also, be warned that I ordered some curtain rods from Crate and Barrel and without noting this, they came from CB2. This meant that I had to return them through the mail instead of taking them to my local Crate and Barrel store.
dont like the bed..but i like those goofy looking lamps...totally me..
Is that wood-burning stove available through the catalog? Because that I totally dig.
I agree that the CB2 catalog is overall picking up -- however the design of the indie bed still looks squat and unresolved.
I have to said that after seeing the chairs in real life, I hate them. They seem weirdly proportioned and the seat cushion seems too flat.
Does bespoke mean what you think it means?
Yep. Think are interesting. Buyers keep chasing trending over quality ... what fun!
I like CB2 but I'm still not sold on the bed. Being rather tall I think the posts would end at a strange height for me and I would probably just end up hanging things over them so I wouldn't have to see them being all...stubby and cut-off looking.
I don't think I'd hang things on the posts, but I do think I'd forget to dust them... yikes.
Are those candles in the wall decoration behind the bed?
