We know how much you've been dying to get Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Friday the 13th on your brand new 3D TV. Well folks, just announced yesterday by Sony, that day has finally come. Just fire up your PS3 and start the firmware updates!

But that's not all folks. The latest update also allows game developers to integrate Facebook into their titles, allowing folks who really enjoy that social media component to really enhance their gameplay experience by loading their name, profile info, photos, and friends list. Really not our cup of tea, but kinda cool nonetheless.

As for the 3D tech, we're really waiting for Philips (who really wowed us a few years back with their epic 21:9 aspect ratio HDTV) to step up their game in the 3D arena. If manufacturers are going to market a more "immersive" experience for consumers, they should consider alternative approaches to the domestic TV in the modern era.

Perhaps they'll take the Toshiba route and can 3D glasses once and for all. Then maybe could enjoy some 3D media without having to worry about adding yet another charging station to our already heavily cluttered home media cabinet.
