Public Sauna Built on Abandoned Dam

This public sauna was built by Czech architects Mjölk Architekti on an abandoned city dam with just five days of preparation and 8 hours of building time. It's accessible only via swimming or rowing boat. Unnfortunately, a building permit wasn't issued, so hopefully the residents are enjoying it while it lasts!

The sauna lives on a previously unused dilapidated concrete platform on the Liberec dam, just a few meters from a public beach and park area. Built in secrecy, the sauna was erected in just 8 hours.

The sauna is available to the public at no charge and is operated by a nearby coffee shop, which provides keys to the building and the opportunity to rent the wood stove. The entrance to the sauna can be accessed via rowing boat.
