IMHO, it's tacky crap.

The description on the website reads:
* Large capacity pot for large cats and multi-cat households.
* Comes with attractive, high-quality plant.
* Durable polypropylene construction.
* Patented filter controls dust and odor

If by "attractive, high-quality plant" they mean crappy fake plastic Peace Lily, they'd be correct. They could have made the whole thing a few inches taller and created an area in which to plant a real plan like a Pothos or even a real Peace Lily.

Oh geez, I saw that a couple weeks ago on a plane in the skymall catalog. I was so appalled I had to wake my boyfriend up to show him. I couldn't decide whether the cat-piss scented tree was worse, or the cat-piss scented bedside table that was also on offer.

Okay, I think it's kinda cool. Except for the fake plant thing because I hate fake plants...they should have made the top part big enough to put a real one in...but I could see how that might be a pain.

I admit I kind of like the concept, but the execution is horrible. Maybe with a nicer pot and a real plant ... but then I think it would be too heavy to easily dump out the litter and clean.

What about the little bit of kitty litter the cat always tracks out of the box?

Oh Man, I totally saw this on sky mall too and had a good chuckle. I agree in theory it isn't a terrible idea, but in practice there could be some real issues. I definitely wish there were some good options for litter boxes to be doing doubleduty and/or not look so much like a litter box!

My roommate actually bought this last fall and liked it for quite a while. So did the cats--especially the leaves on top, which made for a fantastic ambush area. That said, tracking is still an issue, and the leaves are as tacky as they appear online. Last week, the roommate threw them away.

Overall, it's an interesting option for keeping litter in a social place, but if you have more money, much nicer, wood, furniture-like options exist (http://www.therefinedfeline.com/cat-litter-box-furniture.htm or http://www.catsplay.com/rflbox5.php3).

I used the Booda Dome (http://www.pet-dog-cat-supply-store.com/shop/booda-dome.php) for years, when it worked with space.

Frankly, the same effect can be achieved by cutting an opening into a wooden trunk and putting the litter box under it ... and that solution is biodegradable. Not like the polypropylene pot.

Having a litter box in a highly social place?! How insane! As a bedside table? Even more insane! Even one cat using the litter box leaves a certain amount of stench when cleaned regularly. The best place for a litter box is as far away from where guests will be. I put mine in a closet. It hides the litter box AND the smell from guests.

I have an enormous room that no one ever sees the end of... this could work far off in yonder distance. I'd rather have a giant urn without plant though. I'm a gardener for Pete's sake. Fake plants, pishaw!

I have several cats and have tried all kinds of litter boxes. I have two I really like the planter above and the booda. I also have had the littermaid although I mainly had them we I was working so the kitties would always have a scooped litter box. I found them to be a pain after a while. Stop running in the middle of scooping and not start again,cable breaks, scoops breaks and one time almost getting my cat caught. And too too expensive. And their customer service was very hateful and not helpful!!!! I am ordering another plant litter again. No one even know it is really a box for the cats. My cats love it

It really isn't so bad. I removed the plant and put my own, real one in it. It is easy to clean out as well.

I had one of these for a year when I was living in a 600 sq ft apt that lacked a secluded out-of-the way place to stash the litter box. I thought it worked pretty well.

The "pot" comes apart in half so it's pretty easy to clean. There's a filter below where the tree screws in, which helps keep odors controlled. I put a similar terra cotta pot next to it to hide the scoop and bags, and I scooped obsessively. And I put it on top of a rubber litter mat to reduce tracking.

As for the decor, it was in the corner and it just looked like I had a plant there. Nobody seemed upset at it's fakeness. I think people are are overreacting just a bit.

(And FWIW, there's no way you could have room for a real plant that size to have a stable root system and room for the cat to do his or her business.)

I have this for my cat and she loves it as do I. The plant was not that great so I put another one in the top. Every once in a while, my cat will play with the leaves, but she doesn't cause any damage. Everyone of my friends that have cats all loved it when they found out what it was. I have it in my bedroom where my friends don't spend a lot of time when they come to visit ( I thought entertaining was for the living and dining room. It never smells because I keep it clean and it is better than having to keep the closet door open for everyone to see inside by keeping your cat litter box in the closet. I guess all are entitled to there opinion, but some of the comments above are ridiculous.
