My mother-in-law did this for decorations for my October 2008 wedding. She just hollowed out the pumpkins and put red and yellow mums inside. Then, we set them around the chairs, etc. When it was over, I got to take them home and enjoy them for the next few weeks!
We did this for our October 1999 wedding. :) Guests took them home and many planted them. My aunt had some of our wedding mums still growing at least a couple of years ago.
Very cute. Except the squirrels in my neighborhood would destroy the pumpkin within a few hours:(
