Stainless steel baby bottles. The words just feel funky when said out loud together — but these new bottles from Pura not only serve an ecological and healthy purpose, but an economical and practical one as well. The bottle stays the same as your child grows and only the nipples and flow rate change. Cool huh? Pura Kiki bottles and collars are crafted from food service grade (#304) stainless steel - the same safe, durable material that has been used in milk pasteurization for decades. The paint used on the outside of the bottles is non-toxic and free of lead, phthalates, PVC, and BPA. Plus, the bottle and its components are dishwasher safe on the top rack.
Each bottle comes pressed with volume markings on the inside, so as your child grows older, the bottle can be used for other beverages without looking like "a baby." They're compatible with 4 different styles of nipples to grow as your child requires more flow and different styles and there's always the chance they'll work with future nipples (how often do you get to say that in conversation) down the road.
We like that the idea that bottles aren't just for formula anymore and that as soon as your little one has reached an age where solid foods are more their style, the bottle can be transformed into a water bottle without buying a new product. Plus, it means you're not storing anything extra between child number one and two, they can stay in your cabinet day after day!
Each bottle will retail between $13.99-$15.99 depending on the size, though they won't be available until early February. Sure it's a higher price, though in theory a superior product that isn't as disposable as previous methods.
