It does seem like a natural evolution (or would it be devolution?) that the popular graphic pop of birds would move to the more subtle yet still lovely feather motif. Certainly spotted in the hair and outfits of those who subscribe to the bohemian fashion style, we think feathers are a natural enough element that they can show up in a number of different house styles. We rounded up ten items we don't mind that sport a little feathery fun; how long will it be until feathers get as popular as birds?

Shaw's Original Fir...
One could argue that it's still a bird -- just a very specific part of it
There are also quite a few feather wall stickers. Here are a couple:

Animal parts remind me of death and diseases. Doesn't matter what part or what animal. (Um, or if it's just a drawing of one.)
"Put a bird on it!" - Portlandia. See it on You Tube. It's like the feather, and its great.
Good job rapidtransitman! No further comments are needed here today.
I love birds and feathers. In fact, I dedicated a gallery wall to a collection of birds, feathers and trees:

Lordy, AT readers! Some of you are not very astute students of design-history. Feathers have been incorporated into human fashion-- personal and nest--for about as long as we've been catching and eating downy creatures.
What a shame that the trendwatch-themed editorial has such a snooty-&-snarky gallery.
Feathers were a big thing back in, like, 1998 too. More for clothing though. I'm holding out for the Portlandia sketch.

So glad someone else caught the (intended or unintended) reference to Portlandia!
