Walking into Pylones will probably give you a sugar shock. It's like toy shopping for your home, where everything your eye is drawn to is a whimsical colorful reminder that... hey, it was fun being a kid.

For example, consider the bird magnets that hold errant paperclips and chirp when you touch them. Or the dog cake servers and the Lego Stereo Docks. In moderation, some of this is really very cute. We posted their multicolor dish rack a while back. (On that note, their Kitchen products are super fun.) A great place for gifts as well.
Founded in France in 1985, Pylones now has multiple locations around New York.

I bought the bird magnet cause it was cute. The chirping gets realllll old, reallll fast.
i like the bird magnet...but that's probably the only thing i would buy in this store. the colors are cool but its a little juvenille for a grownups home.
"All items are made in France by Pylones"
Are you sure about that, Cambria?
Last time I was in the Grand Central store, EVERYTHING I picked up had a Made in China sticker on it.
Those bird magnets are the cutest things ever.
Anna at D16 - hmmm, you're quite right. I've changed the wording to reflect that Pylones was founded in France, not necessarily that all the items are still manufactured there.
they have the most amazing bike locks. a snake biting it's own tail. and the key has a forked snake tongue on it. perfect!
Looooove Pylones!
It was fun to be a kid. It was also fun to stop being a kid. Excessive cuteness and sweetness in decor designed for adults can sometimes seem not only a bit juvenile as LittleRock noted, but also rather creepy. Moderation is key.
I agree with the comment on the juvenile aspect of Pylones. I've recieved a few gifts coming from them, given to me by very dear friends, but I'm not all that fond of what they do (you find their stuff everywhere here). There is a trend in cute décor in France actually that lots of my friends like, I always seem like a loner on this, but juvenile decor bores me very quickly.
